Tim Keran, president of Western Graphics in Saint Paul, Minnesota, spoke to attendees at the Printing Industries of America’s Continuous Improvement Conference in Tampa, Florida on April 19th, 2010.

The conference focuses on the use of quality concepts, philosophies and tools to reduce costs and increase excellence in print manufacturing and customer satisfaction. The conference stresses practical ways to cut wasted money and time, including the application of Lean manufacturing principles and tools (such as 5S, standard work, and quick changeover) to the printing industry. The heart of the event are case studies taught by some of the most progressive and successful companies in and out of the printing industry.
